The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.
Luke was a special friend I met freshman year living in Oliver Hall that I regrettably lost touch with along the way. My heart and prayers go out to his family and friends. I'm glad to be able to contribute to his children's education fund, since Luke gave me an education of sorts that shaped me at an important time in my development, specifically about things like confidence, the impotence of laughter...and karaoke.
During this difficult time I would like to extend my most heartfelt sympathies. I attended Midway School with Luke. Such good memories
and life of the party.
As a coworker and friend, Luke presented an energy to life that was contagious and so reinforcing. He strived to impact all he interacted with in a positive manner. He will be missed but not forgotten. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
I really can't express how much I'm going to miss my brother, I feel embarrassed even trying because it won't convey how I really feel. Luke was great as a brother and phenomenal as my friend. I know it's going to be tough for... well, for always. So many things will remind me of him, and so many things I will miss doing with him. Who will sing terrible karaoke with me! Who will make me camp out in the back yard? (And I'm not talking about with the kids, just me and him!). Who's going to make me show up hours early for a movie because he's afraid the movie will sellout, only to get there and find that not even the theater employees have arrived yet! Seriously, these are things I will miss, because he was so much fun to be around. I know I'll have to fight the urge to just pick up my phone and text him when I come across something funny or nostalgic, or when the Lions are down by 35 again😍. Sorry, I had to take one last shot at him. But that's what I will miss as well. Yeah, I was right. My words don't come even close to expressing how I feel.
Luke, I love you and I miss you.
I want to express my heartfelt love and gratitude to everyone for all their loving thoughts and prayers, calls, messages, posts,...everything. My parents thank you as well, I've been showing them the tremendous amount of support and caring from all of Luke's family and friends on Facebook and it's truly amazing. Thank you all.
To Stephanie, Madison, Aidan, Makenzie, and Avery... I love you all and you can always call upon me. (Except if the girls want to play "Operation", they cheat!!!)
Stephanie, you will always be my sister.
