Obituary for William Michael "Mike" Higley

William Michael “Mike” Higley, 78, of Nortonville, KS, passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 at Hickory Pointe, Oskaloosa, KS.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, February 28, 2019 at the Nortonville Christian Church, Nortonville, KS with Rev. Bob Carter officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at the O’Trimble Funeral Home, Nortonville, KS. Mike was born November 15, 1940 in Atchison, KS the son of William James and Charlotte Imogene (Wright) Higley. He served in the United State Navy. Mike was an over the road truck driver for We-Mac. He was a member of the Nortonville Christian Church, the VFW and American Legion. Mike enjoyed working on his antique truck and spending time with his family and dog. He especially enjoyed his grandkids.

He is survived by his daughter Megan and Brandon Wilbourn, Valley Falls, KS, two brothers, Jim and Olive Higley, Nortonville, KS, Gene Higley Topeka, KS, a sister, Judy and Kenny Lehew, Topeka, KS, three grandchildren, Caden Thompson, Carter and Kambry Wilbourn and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
