David Bruce Low, 76, Atchison, KS, passed away Friday, August 24, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral home, with Rev. Jim Cormode officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery, Atchison, KS. Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, August 31, 2018, at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Atchison County Fair Board or Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery for a grave location kiosk and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Bruce was born January 13, 1942 in Atchison, KS, the son of John Samuel and Florence Hazel (Waters) Low. He graduated from Atchison High School, class of 1960. He worked for LFM-Rockwell-Atchison Casting-Bradken for forty-seven years as a scheduler and foreman. Bruce was a 4-H leader and founded the Meadowlark 4-H club Atchison County Fair board member and blue building superintendent; he was a Hunter Safety Education Master Instructor for 40 years. Bruce was also a member of the Sportsman Club of Atchison, Ducks Unlimited, and Boy Scouts growing up. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.

Bruce married Florence Marie “Cookie” Navinsky on August 26, 1964 at the Corpus Christi Church, she survives of the home. Additional survivors include a son David Low (Jennifer Reams), Effingham, KS, three daughters, Janice (Donald) Reiss, Cummings, KS, Cheryl (Jim) Denholm, Tonganoxie, KS, Rhonda (Brian) Ramirez, Atchison, KS, two brothers Norman (Jackie) Low, Atchison, KS, Neal (Yoshie) Low, Santee, CA, a sister, Donna (Harlan) Osborn, Faucett, MO, eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parent’s, two brothers Robert “RD” Low and Stanley Low and two grandchildren, Adam Reiss and Elizabeth Ramirez.
