Obituary for Mary Ann (Barber-Gripe) Tull

Mary Ann (Barber-Gripe) Tull, 85, of Atchison KS died on Tuesday, June 26th at the Atchison Senior Village.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, July 2nd, 2018 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in the Round Mound Cemetery, Cummings, KS. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm on Monday until time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Faith Bible Fellowship Church, God’s Mountain or Midland Ministries and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Mary Ann Barber was born on August 27, 1932 in Atchison KS the daughter of Victor W. and Bessie B. (Mayfield) Barber. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1950. She had worked as a bank teller for Exchange National Bank, co-owned several Subway stores with Cecil and worked at the3 Atchison Subway store, and was a seamstress, housewife and homemaker. She was a member of the Faith Bible Fellowship Church, and played the piano and organ for the church and for each church she attended throughout her life. Mary Ann enjoyed cooking, crocheting, Gospel music, being the family historian and spending time with her family.

Mary Ann was married to Cecil Gripe on June 6, 1954. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2009. She was later married to Jim Tull on December 31, 2009. Mr. Tull survives of the home. Additional survivors include a son, Chris (Kelley) Gripe, Shawnee, KS, three daughters, Cecilia (Doug) Wieberg, St. Louis, MO, and Cynthia (Steve) Graves, St. Joseph, MO and Staci (Dennis) Mix, Amity, MO, nine grandchildren, Jordan (Alec) Lemmon, Mackenzie Gripe, Lauren (Chad) McConnell, Chad (Tiffany) Graves, Steffany (Tim) Vincent, Craig Graves, Sydney (Michael) Rueckert, Hunter Mix, Christopher Mix and two great grandchildren, Rowan McConnell, Asher Vincent and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, three brothers, David, Jerry, and John Barber and two sisters, Ruth Theesfield, and Betty Gage, also preceded her in death.
