David Franklin Stansberry, 67, of Effingham, KS formerly of Beatrice, NE died on Monday, May 7th, 2018
at the Mosaic Life Center in St. Joseph, MO following a fight with Leukemia.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date in Beatrice NE with family and friends. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Leukemia Society and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, 800 Kansas Ave, Atchison, KS who is handling the local arrangements. David was born on April 9, 1951 in San Antonio, TX the son of Floyd R. and Wilma L. (Garner) Stansberry. He graduated from Trezevant High School, Memphis, TN in 1969. David worked in several different positions and companies including American Tool, and Husqvarna in Beatrice NE, and as a machine operator for Nestle-Purina, Crete, NE and St. Joseph, MO. He and his wife moved to Effingham, Kansas in Sept. 2014. David was a member of CERT (Certified Emergency Response Team), was a Union member and enjoyed yard work, hunting and especially fishing.

He was married to Christine L. Sorensen on April 29, 1996. Mrs. Stansberry survives of the home in Effingham. Additional survivors include a daughter, Amie (Josh) Martin, Lincoln, NE, step-daughter, Jennifer O’Brien, Effingham, KS, step-son, William Hahn, Fremont, NE, two brothers, Floyd “Butch” and Richard Stansberry, both of Beatrice, NE, and seven grandchildren. His parents, and one sister, preceded him in death.
