Marion Kay Agnew, 60, of Atchison Kansas died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 18th, 2016 at North Kansas City Hospital surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in the Cummings Cemetery, Cummings, KS. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, Dec. 21st, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Benedictine College and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Condolences and messages to the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.

Marion K. Forsberg was born on November 27th, 1956 in Junction City, KS the daughter of William “Bill” A. and Barbara (Kinney) Forsberg. She graduated from Atchison County Community High School in 1975. She received her Bachelor Degree in Music Education from University of Nebraska- Lincoln, NE, and her Masters in School Administration from Benedictine College, Atchison, KS. Marion taught from 1986-1995 in all the Atchison Public Elementary Schools. After receiving her Master’s Degree she worked as Director of Educational Diagnostics for Missouri Western State University, St. Joseph from 1998 to 2010, when she retired. Mrs. Agnew was an active member of the First Baptist Church, serving as Choir and Music Director. She enjoyed decorating, making flower arrangements, cooking and catering for parties. She also enjoyed shopping with family and especially spending time with her grandbabies and Caribbean cruises with her husband Fred.

She was married to Fred Agnew on June 16, 1979 in Atchison, KS. He survives of the home. Additional survivors include her daughter, Lauren (Travis) Eichelberger, Atchison, KS, a son, Adam (Alison) Agnew, Lee’s Summit, MO, three sisters, Laurie Forsberg, Atchison KS, Ruth Forsberg, Topeka, KS., and Jody O’Malley, Manhattan, KS, four grandchildren, Isabella and Taylor Eichelberger, and Raeley and Reese Agnew. Her parents, and brother Dan Forsberg, preceded her in death.
