Wayne “The Beard” Robert Albers, 77 of Bendena, KS passed away Monday, December 05, 2016, at Highland Healthcare & Rehab Center, Highland, KS.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, December 8, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Bendena, KS with Rev. Jennifer Obermueller officiating. Burial will follow at Moray Cemetery, Bendena, KS. Family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30PM on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Denton & Bendena First Responders or St. John’s Lutheran Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.

Wayne was born on June 6, 1939 in Highland, KS, the son of Arthur and Goldie (Laverentz) Albers. He was a farmer his entire life. Wayne was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Bendena, KS, past district president of the Kansas Livestock Association, past member of 4-H and FFA. He was member of the Masonic Lodge and Abdallah Shriners K-90 Motorcycle Riders. Wayne enjoyed sports, showing cattle and worrying about everyone.

Wayne married Anna Katherine Gibson on November 14, 1965 at Empire Presbyterian Church in King City, MO, she survives of the home. Additional survivors include their children, Carmen Crandall, Highland, KS, Thomas and Kim Albers, Bendena, KS, Aaron and Heather Albers, Montezuma, KS, two sisters; Marilyn (Max) Oltjen, Hiawatha, KS, Janice (Gilmore) Dahl, Tulsa, OK, grandchildren, Katherine (David) Manhart, Samantha Albers, Ian Crandall, Jaime Albers, Gwyn and Sloane Jantz.

He was preceded in death his parents, two brothers; Warren and Byron Albers, three sisters; Dorothy Scholz, Donna Klebe and Lorene Roberts.
