Darlene Marie Eylar, 86, of Atchison KS died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016 at Vintage Park in Atchison, KS.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM on Monday, Oct. 31st, 2016 at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Abbott Barnabas Senecal, OSB officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A parish rosary will be recited at 4:00 pm on Sunday, Oct. 30th, 2016 with visitation to follow until 6:30 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Benedict Grade School and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.
Darlene was born on Oct. 16, 1930 in Atchison KS the daughter of Millard J. and Letha M. (Kelsay) Overton. She had worked for Electrica Manufacturing from 1953-1955, as a clerk at the former Pamida from 1970-1993, as a Green Thumb worker for 5 years, and her last place of work was at Bekin’s Moving and Storage, Atchison retiring in 2013. Darlene was a member of St. Benedict’s Church, the Little Flower Circle, the Meadowlark Club, was a former Den-Mother for Cub Scouts, member of TOPS, and enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, traveling and especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Darlene was married to Leslie Eylar on Aug, 23, 1947. Mr. Eylar preceded her in death on Aug. 10, 1995. Survivors include two sons, Roger K. Eylar, Easton, KS, Martin J. Eylar, Atchison KS., a daughter, Pamela S. Goodman, Atchison, KS., eight grandchildren, two step grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Her parents, husband Leslie, infant son- Raymond, infant daughter- Linda, two brothers, James and Gerald Overton preceded her in death.
