Martha Joan (Webb) Underwood, 84, of Winchester, KS. died Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the Jefferson County Geriatric Center, Winchester, KS.

Graveside services and inurnment will be 11:00 am on Sat. April 12th, 2014 at the Family Cemetery, Atchison. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 10:45 am at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Atchison Humane Society or Jefferson County Memorial Geriatric Center and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home who is handling the arrangements. Martha Joan Webb was born on July 2, 1929 in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Adin H. and Eda (Myers) Webb. She attended grade school and graduated from high school in Lincoln, NE. and attended Ottawa University for two years. Mrs. Underwood was a homemaker and housewife and attended the Lancaster United Methodist Church. Martha was also a member of the Senior Citizens in Effingham, KS. and enjoyed raising flowers , animals and antiquing.

She was married to William Warren Underwood on Aug. 19, 1950 in Lincoln; NE. Mr. Underwood preceded her in death on April 11, 2004. Survivors include three sons, Steve (Mary) Underwood, Winchester, KS., Robert Underwood, Kansas City, MO., and Tracy (Alice)Underwood, Olathe, KS., a brother, Richard A.(Charlotte) Webb, Hinesville, GA, five grandchildren, Eric Underwood, Beth Underwood- Steffen, Amanda Underwood, Justine Underwood- Hilbert, and Caleb Underwood and five great grandchildren, Owen and Jackson Underwood, Nora Cate Steffen, Makae and Decon Hilbert.
