Obituary for Marvine Louise Strong (Gregg)

Marvine Louise Strong, 89, Rushville, MO died on Monday, July 30, 2018 at her home.
Graveside services and burial will be 3:00 pm on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018 at the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Rushville, with Rev. Tim Champ officiating. No visitation will be held. Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral home is handling the arrangements. Memorial contributions are suggested to help with final expenses and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Marvine L. Gregg was born on Dec. 19, 1928 in Appleton City, MO the daughter of Cleve Leroy and Fay Bernice (Duffey) Gregg. She graduated from Appleton High School in 1946. She was married to Earl M. Strong on April 16, 1952 in Newkirk, OK. They owned and operated a restaurant in Weston, MO and a grocery store in Rushville, MO. She had also worked at the Whiskey Rebellion Liquor Store. Marvine was a member of the First Christian Church, Appleton City, MO. She enjoyed painting, collecting antiques and going to auctions. Her life centered around her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Marlene L. Bowers, Rushville, Mo, a granddaughter, Colene Strong, Atchison, KS and two great grandchildren, Felicity Crossland, and Tyler Gates of Atchison, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl, a daughter, Connie Kincade and a great granddaughter Desirae Crossland.
