Obituary for Wayne Edwin Hale
Wayne Edwin Hale, 78, of Atchison KS died on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, July 8th, 2018 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Broxterman officiating. The body will be cremated following the visitation and service and burial will be at a later date in the Corpus Christi Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 pm on Saturday, July 7th, 2018 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Atchison High School Golden Grads or the C.O. P. D. Foundation and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.
Wayne E. Hale was born on October 31, 1939, in Atchison, KS the son of Adrain and Christina (Kautz) Hale. He graduated from Atchison High School in 1957. Wayne served in the United States Army. He worked as a yardman for the former Beverly Lumber Co., Atchison before owning and operating the Hale House, which held receptions out of their home on K Highway 7. Wayne was baptized at the First Christian Church and enjoyed mowing his yard, wood working, and was a caregiver for his parents and family members.
He was married to Constance Lemke on January 27, 1968 at the Corpus Christi Church, Mooney Creek. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include a daughter, Barbara (Joe) Portenier, Atchison, KS, and three grandchildren, Amanda, Alexis and Austin Goehner. His parents preceded him in death.
