Obituary for Thomas Howard Potts

Thomas Howard Potts, 74, of Effingham, KS died Sat. Sept. 2, 2017 at the Mosaic Life Center, St. Joseph, MO.

Visitation for Mr. Potts will be Monday, Sept. 4th, 2017 beginning at 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Becker Chapel, Effingham, KS. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm on Friday, Sept. 8th at the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester, TN. Burial will follow in the Mt. Garner Cemetery, Decherd, TN. The family will receive friends from noon until time of services at the funeral home in Winchester, TN. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Meals on Wheels from the Effingham Senior Citizens Center, and may be sent in care of the Becker Dyer Stanton Funeral Home. Thomas was born on June 3, 1943 in Winchester, TN the son of James and Rubye (Steele) Potts. He attended schools in Winchester. Mr. Potts had worked for the Rival Company and Web Belting, in Kansas City. He was a truck driver for an oil company and moved to Effingham in 1990. Thomas enjoyed fishing.

He was married to Angelina ‘Anne” Vargas in 1980. She preceded him in death on April 1998.Survivors include two sisters, Myra Rigney, Shelbyville, TN, and Sandra Davis, Hillsboro, TN and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. His parents, wife Anne, and two brothers, Grady D. Potts and James F. Potts preceded him in death
