Betty Carl (Volk) Taylor, 90, formerly of Atchison, KS died peacefully on Monday, April 03, 2017 at the New Mark Care Center, Kansas City, MO surround by her loving family.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Saturday, April 8th, 2017 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Harry Foockle, Pastor of the Antioch Community Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am on Saturday until time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Antioch Community Church, Kansas City, MO and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Betty was born on May 18, 1926 in Atchison, KS the daughter of Carl A. and Alice M. (Robb) Volk. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1944 and attended the Northeast Kansas Area Vo-Technical School. Betty had worked as a secretary for Blish-Mize Company, and the Fox Drug Company, Kansas City, MO. She was a member of the Platte Woods United Methodist Church, and the Martha Washington Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Betty was married to William F. Taylor. They were later divorced. Survivors include her daughter, Anne Volk-Wilcox, Kansas City, MO, a brother, Charles Volk, Sr., Overland Park, KS, four grandchildren, a great grandchild on the way who will be named Taylor and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, a son, Robert C. Taylor, and two sisters, Dorcus Merriman, and an infant, Alice Volk, preceded her in death.
