Wayne Orean Hale, 77, of Atchison KS died Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the Atchison Hospital with his family by his side.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 24th, 2017 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Russ Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Atchison. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 pm on Monday, Jan. 23rd, 2017 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Christian Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Condolences and memories may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.

Wayne was born on Nov 15th, 1939 in Atchison, KS the son of Orean and Bethel (Buchanan) Hale. He graduated from Atchison High School in 1957. He was the second generation owner/operator for Hale’s Service Center, Atchison. After he retired and sold the business he enjoyed traveling with his wife Shirley, attending the McDonald’s Coffee Club, and was the delivery driver for the Berger Company. He was a member of the First Christian Church and will be remembered for always having a joke to tell.

Wayne was married to Shirley Ann Miller on June 25, 1961 at the First Christian Church, Atchison. Mrs. Hale preceded him in death on May 4, 2014. Survivors include a son, Rod (Sandy Jamvold) Hale, Atchison, two daughters, Amy (Brian) Oswalt and Tammy (Glenn) Parrott, both of Atchison, KS, three grandchildren, Jake (Becca) Oswalt, Mason Oswalt, and Derrick Parrott and special friend Vicki O’Connor, Atchison, KS. His parents, wife- Shirley, and brother Wendell Hale preceded him in death.
