The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Van Hurst can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Brittany
Condolence: I wanted to send my sympathies to the Hurst family. I know the Anniversary of your dear loved one is approaching, so I was thinking about you. No doubt over the course if time you've reminisced about the memories that you've had with Van, and maybe that has brought to mind some sadness and lingering grief. Keep in mind the beautiful hope that is found in God's Word, the Bible. John 5:28,29 says, "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." This means that you and I have a chance to see our dear loved ones again, to be reunited with them right here on the earth, as God purposed. (Psalm 37:11,29) My thoughts and prayers will continue will continue with your family.

Condolence: I wanted to send my love and condolences to the Hurst family. I'm very sorry for your loss. Know that God is eager to bring back to life our loved ones whom we have lost in death. God hates death; he views it as an enemy. (1 Corinthians 15:26) He has "a yearning" to conquer that enemy, to undo death by means of the resurrection. He longs to bring back those who are in his memory and to see them live on earth again. God purposes to do this by means of the resurrection hope as He has promised in His Word, the Bible. (John 5:28,29) Please consider these comforting scriptures in your personal copy of the Bible. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Condolence: My family want you to know how very sorry we are. We grew up with Van being part of our lives because my dad (Dean Boggs) being a teacher was part of his. I know my dad is very sad his friend is gone. Dad and Van went on car trips viewing his acreage and stopping in St.Joe for a beer. He was a gentle man, great leader and he was an awesome father. Our prayers are with you always. God Bless#
