Obituary for Joan Elaine Noll (Chmidling)
Joan Elaine Noll, 90, of Nortonville, KS passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Stormont Vail Hospital, Topeka, KS.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Monday December 12, 2016 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with Father Lazar Carasala as celebrant. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A Parish Rosary will be recited at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the Corpus Christi Church, Mooney Creek with visitation to follow until 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Corpus Christi Altar Society or Corpus Christ Cemetery. The O’Trimble Funeral Home, Nortonville is handling the arrangements. Condolences to the family may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.
Joan was born on April 13, 1926 in Winchester, KS, the daughter of the late John and Agnes (Meyers) Chmidling. Joan worked in Atchison for four years before she got married. Joan worked at “The Locomotive Finishing Material Co.” and “Inland Manufactory Co”, and Montgomery Ward’s Store. Joan also took care of her grandmother Carolina Meier for a while. Joan loved her family, grandkids and great grandchildren. She loved to read and work on word puzzles, and just enjoyed life to the fullest.
Joan Elaine Chmidling married Carl Joseph Noll the third of June 1947 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Nortonville, by the Reverend Leo Herkens, they were married for sixty-one years. He preceded her in death on June 15, 2008. Survivors include a daughter; Mrs. Marie and her husband Greg McDaniel, Atchison, KS, three sons; Larry and his wife Jill Noll, Nortonville, KS, Fred and his wife Jean Noll, Atchison, KS, and Leon and his wife CeCe Noll, of Atchison, KS, two brothers; Jerry Chmidling, Leavenworth, KS and Johnnie Chmidling, IN, a sister; Carol Daniels, Leavenworth, KS, a daughter in law Gloria Noll, Oskaloosa, KS, a son in law, Larry Schrick, Easton, KS, fifteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son Dale Noll and a daughter; Bonnie Schrick, four brothers; Richard, Charles, Marvin and Bill Chmidling, and a sister; Mary Loren Chmidling.
