Cuca Maria Lopez, 97, of Kansas City, MO, formerly of Atchison, KS died on Friday, Nov. 25, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, MO.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am on Tuesday, Nov. 29th, 2016 at St. Benedict’s Church with Abbot Barnabas Senecal, OSB as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Atchison. A parish rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm on Monday, Nov. 28th, 2016 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 8:30 pm. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Benedicts Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.

Cuca was born on May 17, 1919 in Shaw, KS the daughter of Angel and Luciana Reyes. She attended schools in Independence KS. She was married to Eleno Lopez on Oct. 30, 1941 in Parsons, KS. Mr. Lopez preceded her in death on Oct. 19, 2007. Cuca was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of the St. Benedict Parish, Atchison and enjoyed knitting, completing word search puzzles, and watching baseball.

Survivors include two sons, William Lopez, Kansas City, MO, and Philip Lopez, St. Joseph, MO, a brother, Frank Reyes, Parsons, KS, one sister, Louisa Fuentez, Parson, KS, three grandchildren, Wesley, Taylor and Anthony Lopez, and three great grandchildren. Her parents, husband, Eleno, two sons, Eleno and Paul Lopez, two brothers, Angel Serria and Lucia Reyes, and one sister, Lupe Servantez preceded her in death.
