Obituary for Larry L. Crossland

Larry L. Crossland, 70, of Atchison, KS passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family, with his niece Jeanette singing Softly and Tenderly.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert Ziegler and Pastor Danny Graves officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison, KS. Family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 PM Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church, Atchison Hospice or American Cancer society and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.

Larry was born June 12, 1946 in Laquey, MO the son of Granville and Pearl (Graves) Crossland. After his father passed Larry and his mother moved to Atchison, KS, she then married Kenneth Logsdon. Larry graduated from Atchison High School in 1964. He worked for Henry Kaut, where he learned his electrical and plumbing skills he used his entire life. Larry then went to work for Bradken formally known as Atchison Casting as a Supervisor retiring in 1998 after thirty-three years of service. Larry loved his family dearly especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing at his farm pond, his cattle and woodworking in his shop.

Larry married the love of his life Linda Elias on May 10, 1975; they were married for forty-two years. She survives of the home. He is also survived by their one son David Lee Crossland and his wife Laura of Atchison, KS, five grandchildren, Palmer, Averie, Ty, Kannon, Makayla, three brothers, Roy (Evelyn) Crossland, Springfield, MO, Jack (Mary) Crossland, Paola, KS, Les (Joyce) Crossland, Atchison, KS.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, stepfather and two brothers, James Lee and Joseph Emery Crossland.
