Towanda Jaunita Goodpasture, 87 of Atchison, KS passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016 at the Atchison Hospital, Atchison KS.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Monrovia Cemetery, Monrovia, KS. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.

Jaunita was born July 26, 1928 in Atchison, KS the daughter of Lloyd John and Bertha Lurilla (Batterson) McCartney. She owned and operated the Wagon Wheel Restaurant in East Atchison, for many years. Jaunita also worked as a security guard at Wells Fargo. She enjoyed making stain glass, feeding her birds and squirrels. Jaunita especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a caregiver to many kids when they needed a loving home.

She married George Goodpasture and they later divorced, she then married William Goodpasture and they later divorced. Survivors include four sons; Henry Goodpasture Rushville, MO, Cleo Goodpasture, Salem, AL, Tom and Ronda Goodpasture, Atchison, KS, William and Michelle Goodpasture, Warsaw, MO, four daughters; Towanda Chapman, Atchison KS, Tammy and Gary Freeman, Severance, KS, Terrie Goodpasture, Atchison, KS, Teresa Goodpasture, Atchison, KS, forty-four grandchildren, forty-two great grandchildren and thirteen great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Frank Goodpasture, a daughter Mary Wurzbacher, three brothers Lloyd McCartney, Jr., Robert McCartney and Bill Muncie, three sisters; Nancy McCoy, Helen Schooler and Mary Muncie a grandchild and two great grandchildren.
