Betty Marie Perkins of Round Rock, Texas formerly of Atchison, Kansas died Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the age of 87.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, May 5th, 2016 at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Nancy Kollhoff officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison, KS. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, May 4th 2016 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Valley Hope and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.
Betty was born on May 18, 1928 in Leavenworth County, Kansas the daughter of Elmer and Mariam (Newman) Jones. Betty attended school in Leavenworth, Kansas. She was married to Frank W. Perkins, Jr. on March 23, 1946 in Memphis TN. Betty had two children; one daughter, Peggy Ann Higley and one son, Frank W. Perkins, III.
She operated the Country Kitchen Café in Atchison, until moving to Meriden, Kansas where she and her husband owned & operated Perky’s Kitchen. Betty was passionate about antiques, preparing good food, and caring for her family.
Betty is survived by her son, Frank; her three grandchildren, Megan, Kimberly, and Christopher; 4 great grandchildren, Caden, Kambry, Tate and Reece. Her parents, husband, daughter, four brothers (Bob, Pete, William and Willard Jones), and four sisters (Virginia Torrance, Lorrene Whaley, Ruth Oxley, and Leona Jones), all proceeded her in death.
