Obituary for Philip "Scott" Gerardy

Philip “Scott” Gerardy, 70, formerly of Atchison KS died on Monday, Dec. 28th, 2015 in St. Charles, MO.
Memorial services will be 1:30 pm on Sat. May 7th, 2016 at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating. Burial of cremated remains will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Atchison. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Trinity Lutheran School Endowment Fund and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.
Scott was born on Aug. 29th, 1945 in Denver, CO the son of Frank and Lucinda (Matteson) Gerardy. He graduated from Atchison High School in 1963 and attended Kansas State University for one year. He served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. Scott worked in customer service for the Union-Pacific Railroad for thirty years before retiring in 2005. He was a member of the Our Savior Lutheran Church, St. Charles, MO and enjoyed traveling, reading, painting and especially his grandchildren.
He was married to Karen Wahaus on June 28, 1969 in Atchison, KS. Mrs. Gerardy survives of the home in St. Charles, MO. Additional survivors include three daughters: Jennifer Gerardy, St. Charles, MO, Lucinda (Kerry) Knox, Troy, MO and Sarah (Todd) Courtney, Thomasville, GA, two sisters: Nancy (Joe) Quick, Rockport, TX, and Linda (Joe) Woodhull, Ft. Smith, AR, three grandchildren: Philip, Matteson, and Alison. His parents, step-mother Jean Gerardy, and two brothers Richard Gerardy and Roger Gibson preceded him in death.
