James D “Jim” Robinson, 82, of Atchison Kansas died Wednesday, April 13, 2016 unexpectedly.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am on Tuesday, April 19th, 2016 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Cline officiating. Burial will follow at 12;30 at the Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Monday, April 18th, 2016 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Faith Valley Atchison Church of God or to help with final expenses. Condolences to the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.

James was born on April 16, 1933 in Valley Falls, KS the son of James A. and Sarah A. (McCorkill) Robinson. He graduated from Nortonville High School in 1953 and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1953-1955. Mr. Robinson worked as a chipper/grinder for Rockwell International / Atchison Casting for over 34 years, retiring in July of 1995 .He was a member of the Faith Valley Atchison Church of God. Jim loved horses, the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, watching WWE Wrestling on television and enjoyed watching his children play sports, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was married to Dorothy Peterson on April 23, 1966. Mrs. Robinson survives of the home. Additional survivors include a son: Christopher (Susie) Robinson, Leavenworth, KS and two daughters: Tracy (Paul) Cline, Atchison and Laura (Mike) Mount, Lancaster KS, twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Valerie Robinson, Nortonville, KS and several nieces & nephews. His parents, five brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
