Lindell E. “Burr” Nolting, 83, of Nortonville, KS died Sunday, March 6, 2016 at the Midland Hospice House, Topeka, KS.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 9th, 2016 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Nortonville. The body will be cremated following the service and interment of cremated remains will be at a later date in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Nortonville, KS. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am on Wednesday at the church, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Matthews’s Lutheran Church or the Nortonville Public Library and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Lindell was born on June 21, 1932 in Atchison County KS, the son of Herman and Martha (Wehking) Nolting. He graduated from Atchison County Community High School in 1950. After high school he served in the United States Marines during the Korean Conflict. Burr worked, managed and co-owned the Nortonville Farmers Supply for over 40 years before retiring in 2000. He was an active member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Nortonville and the American Legion Post. Burr loved his family unconditionally and cherished every moment with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His hobbies were fishing, reading, following his grandchildren’s sports and taking his little red pickup to his small farm southwest of town to watch the crops grow.

He was married to Marian E. Schrick on June 1, 1957 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Nortonville, KS. She survives him at their home in Nortonville. Additional survivors include their three sons: Greg (Kaycee) Nolting, Oklahoma City, OK, Scott (Carolyn) Nolting, Benson, AZ., and Kent (Jennifer) Nolting, Carroll, IA. Six grandchildren: Stephen Sanger and Rachel, children of Greg (Kaycee), Matthew (Mylynda) and Benjamin (Jennifer), sons of Scott (Carolyn), and Logan and Connor, sons of Kent (Jennifer). Two great grandchildren: Charlotte, daughter of Benjamin (Jennifer) and Kensington, daughter of Matthew (Mylynda). Brothers: Bud Nolting, Bill Nolting, and J.R. Nolting and sister: Verna Cox.

His Parents, sisters: Esther, Ottillia, Dorothy, MaryEllen, Mildred and brothers: Harold, Ralph, and Robert all preceded him in death.
