Obituary for Marietta Ann Kearney (Falk)

Marietta Ann Kearney of Effingham, KS went to the home of her heavenly father to join the love of her life Tom.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am on Friday, March 11th, 2016 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with Fr. Benjamin Tremmel, OSB as Celebrant. Burial of cremated remains will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm on Thursday, March 10th at St. Ann’s Church with visitation to follow until 8:30 pm. The Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Valley Falls School Athletic Program or St. Ann’s Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Marietta A. Falk was born the daughter of Leo and Rosemary (Keimig) Falk. She graduated from Atchison County Community High School in 1964. Marietta worked as a Pharmacy Tech for Wal-Mart. She was a member of St. Ann’s Church, Effingham, KS.

She was married to Thomas D. Kearney on Oct. 19, 1974. Mr. Kearney preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 1998. Survivors include two daughters: Janet Gatzemeyer, and Carolyn (Rob) Elias, of Valley Falls, KS, and three step children:, Sherry Kearney, Joe (Sheila) Kearney, Rob (Rhonda) Kearney, and step daughter-in law, Renee Kearney all of Valley Falls, KS, two brothers, Bob Falk, and Henry (Rosie) Falk, Effingham, KS, four grandchildren, twelve step grandchildren, and twenty step great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her parents, husband Tom and step-son Rex Kearney preceded her in death.
