Mary Ann Liebsch, 83, of Atchison, KS, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Vintage Park of Atchison, KS.
Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Monday, February 1, 2016 at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, KS, with Father Roderic Giller, OSB officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison, KS. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. Benedict Catholic School Technology Fund and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.
Mary Ann was born November 15, 1932 in Rogers, Arkansas, the daughter of Virgil and Alma (Burch) Thomas. She attended Atchison Public Schools. Mary Ann worked at Nestler’s Cleaners and Saunders Manufacturing. She was a member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church. Mary Ann was an avid bowler especially enjoying the Stars and Stripes League. She was a Bingo enthusiast and in recent years enjoyed the casino.
Mary Ann married Richard Max Liebsch, Sr., on April 20, 1948 in Atchison, KS; he preceded her in death on December 28, 2006. Survivors include a son Richard and Diane Liebsch, Jr., Atchison, KS, three sisters; Vergie Harl, Overland Park, KS, Nancy Shelton and Sandy Knowles of Atchison, KS, three grandchildren; Betsy (Bill) Douglass, Cindy (Ted) Cookson and Andy (Kellen) Liebsch, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, a step father, Ernest Vandiver, an infant daughter, Ruth Ann Liebsch and a brother, Lester Thomas.
