Beverly A. Bareiss, 82 of Atchison, KS died Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, MO.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, Jan. 9 , 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison. The family will receive friends from noon to 2:00 pm on Saturday, Jan 9 , 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions are suggested to Trinity Lutheran School Endowment Fund and sent in care of Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home who is handling the arrangements. Beverly was born on Aug. 18 , 1933 in St. Joseph, MO, the daughter of Cary Lloyd and Margaret (Kindred) Stevenson. She attended Lindberg Elementary School and graduated from LaFayette High School, St Joseph, MO, in 1951. Beverly received her degree in nursing from St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1954. Beverly worked as a registered nurse for the former Dr. Rost. She was the public health nurse for Atchison County Health Department from 1967 to 1981 and then as the evening supervisor for Atchison Hospital from 1981 to 1997. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she had served as a Kennedy Caller, was Bethel - Teacher trained, was a member of the 8 to 8 prayer ministry and attended Adult Bible Class. Bev enjoyed reading and being with family. .

She married Loren D. Bareiss on Nov. 14th, 1954 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Atchison. Mr. Bareiss preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 2000. Survivors include a son Loren D. (Katherine) Bareiss, Jr., Shawnee, KS, and a daughter, Lori A. Lang, Olathe, KS; Six grandchildren Amanda (Logan) Bareiss; Eric (Mirav) Bareiss; Kyle (Eriko) Lang; Anthony (Holly) Lang; Dalton Lang and Maggie Lang; two great- grandchildren; Elise Lang and Saya Lang; three brothers, Jerry Stevenson, Phoenix, AZ, Wayne Stevenson, St. Joseph, MO, and Charles Stevenson, Atlanta, GA; a sister, Phyllis Stevenson, Powers Lake, WI. Her parents, husband Loren, son Ronald Lee Bareiss, and several siblings preceded her in death.
