Norma Jean Pohl, 86, of Atchison, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015, at Twin Oaks Rehab in Lansing, KS.
A prayer service will be recited at 7:00 PM, Saturday, January 2, 2016, with the family receiving friends after the service until 9:00 PM at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, KS. There will be a private family burial at Sunset Memory Garden, Leavenworth, KS. Memorials are suggested to Crossroads Hospice and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Norma was born September 28, 1929 in Atchison, KS, the daughter of Sylvester and Louise (Walters) Hoffman. She was a homemaker. Norma enjoyed volunteering at the Atchison Hospital Auxiliary.
Norma married Henry F. Pohl on January 10, 1950 at St. Benedicts Church, Atchison, KS. He preceded her in death on December 26, 2008. Survivors include a son; Henry Wm. “Bill” and Diane Pohl, Atchison, KS, a son in law; Don Baker, Atchison, KS, five grandchildren; Rachelle and Jason Handke, Rebecca and Eric Crain, Michael and Elizabeth Pohl, Ryan and Noelle Pohl and Aaron Henry and Katherine Pohl, and eight great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter; Linda Louise Baker and a sister; Patricia Frazier.
