Patricia Joy Turpin, 75, of Rushville, MO, passed away Friday, April 10, 2015, at the Mosiac Life Center in St. Joseph, MO.
Funeral Services will be 11:30 AM, Monday, April 13, 2015 at the Sugar Creek Christian Church, Rushville, with Rev. Keith Hoover, officiating. Burial will follow in the Sugar Creek Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time of the service at the church. Memorial Contributions in honor of Patricia are suggested to the Sugar Creek Christian Church. Patricia Joy McDevitt was born on November 7, 1939 in DeKalb, MO, the daughter of John Henry and Alice (Eirls) McDevitt. Patricia attended DeKalb High School. She and Roger Lee Turpin were married on January 18, 1957 at the DeKalb Christian Church. Patricia was a devoted wife and mother and taking care of her family was most important to her. Patricia was a member of the Sugar Creek Christian Church, she enjoyed collecting dolls, cooking, flower gardening, sewing and in her younger days, playing basketball.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 58 years, Roger Turpin, of the home; a son, Roger Turpin II, Rushville; three daughters, Vicky (Larry) Anthony, King City, MO, Dorothy (Tim) Robinson, Dodge City, KS, Tamatha (Kevin) Wagner, Atchison, KS; two brothers, John Henry McDevitt II, Arkansas, and Norville McDevitt, Atchison; a sister, Sharon Bedingfield, Las Vegas, NV; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, David McDevitt, Kenneth McDevitt, and an infant brother, Dan McDevitt; sister, Phyllis Helmick.
