Elsie June Kendall, 65, Atchison, KS, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 in Atchison, surrounded and comforted by her loving family.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Monday, April 6, 2015 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Ziegler, officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery, Atchison. Family will receive friends on Monday from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the funeral home . Memorial contributions in honor of Elsie are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church. Words of comfort and remembrance may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.

Elsie June Mays was born on December 12, 1949 in St. Joseph, MO, the daughter of Lowell L. and Betty J. (Duty) Mays. She attended schools in Kansas City. Elsie had worked as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) and Restorative Aide at the Atchison Medicalodge, Atchison Senior Village and Country Care in Easton, KS. She later had worked as a childcare provider in her own home. Elsie enjoyed reading and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Atchison.

Elsie married James R. Hall and he preceded her in death in 1970. On October 14, 1984, Elsie and Stephen P. Kendall were married in Atchison. Steve also preceded Elsie in death on June 13, 2012. Elsie’s parents; son-in-law, Michael Harris; grandson, Austin Everett; brothers, Daniel Brown and Harold Mays; and sister, Martha Hoyle Mays also preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, James (Renee) Hall, Atchison; four daughters, Kathy Harris, Estella (Tim) Everett, Terry (Sean) Everett, and Tabby Schmelzle, all of Atchison; three brothers, James Brown, Joe Brown, and Billy Mays; two sisters, Kelly Brown and Brenda Fenner; nine grandchildren, Michael (Amy) Harris, Nina (Josh) Ostertag, Ashley and Ivy Hall, Ariana Cafferty, Alyssa, Sadie and Preston Everett, Dillon Schmelzle; seven great grandchildren, Addison Schneider, Sophia Ogletree, McKinzie and Aiden Ostertag, Hayden and Colt Harris, Landon Cafferty.
